Our story began 40 years ago when two intrepid kiwis lovingly brought Treasure Island to life.

This former farmland has since provided generations of local and international travellers with a classic kiwi holiday experience.
Our park has 85 powered sites and 65 camping sites. It has two ablution blocks, with 10 showers and 14 toilets. Above the main ablution block are the kitchen, rumpus room and alfresco dining area.

There is a shop and takeaways located within the park. These are open during peak times*.

Our park is also home a beautiful camp dog.

There is no wifi, just plenty of opportunity for old fashioned family fun.

*Please note, the takeaways will not be open during the 2023-24 summer season due to staffing difficulties.
Location
The park is located at Pataua South (half an hour from Whangarei), on Northland's east coast.
The park really was an island, until, by the process of accretion, it became possible to drive vehicles across to it.

Treasure Island features a safe lagoon, ideal for young children; and two excellent golden sand beaches, where you can swim at any time of the day. There are plenty more coves and bays, if you care to scramble round the rocks or take a boat to reach them.
